2022 Stocking stuffers for potters
Stocking stuffers at many different price points! Toss a few chocolates alongside these great gifts and you’ll have one happy potter on your hands!
Xiem Tools Clay Bag Ties $10 - These are so handy, and won’t break like metal twist ties or rubber bands. Spin/Twist your bag of clay, fold the twisted part over, and tie it up!
Garrity Tools Fishstick Rib $10 - Is this the most versatile wooden rectangle on the planet? You bet your jolly butt it is.
Nat & Noor Leia Clips $12 - I prefer to wear my hair down, but I don’t want my hair falling in my face while I throw. These are the only clips that can keep my thick hair back! They come in a few colors and a few different styles. If your giftee is often clipping/tying their hair back, they’ll appreciate these!
Mudtools Red Rib $9 - I tell my students all the time: after you own a beginner tool kit, get yourself a Mudtools red rib! It’s so versatile and equally great for handbuilders and wheelthrowers. I also love the Yellow rib, almost equally! Red is super soft, and Yellow is a bit firmer.
Shrink Ruler $18 - If your giftee is always bringing home espresso sized mugs, lamenting that it shrunk so much, get them this Shrink Ruler from Diamond Core Tools. They’ll soon bring home normal sized mugs for all to enjoy!
Xiem Tools Telescoping Sponge $13 - Not only is this impressive to whip out at the studio, not only does this make a perfect microphone when singing your favorite song on spotify, but it’s a necessary item when you really need it! Perfect for potters who have moved on from cups and bowls to shapes like vases and bottles. And the sponge tops are replaceable.
Tampico Nail Brush $10 - Who says a nail brush can’t be cute? I keep this exact one by the sink and I love it.
Continuous Sprayer $9 - There are so many of these out there, but a continuous fine mist spray bottle is a game changer! I chose this one at random, so feel free to google around to find a different size or color. They can spray upside down, and the mist is so fine that your pots will get a nice even coating!
Burt’s Bees Cuticle Cream $18 - I keep this by my bedside and if my fingertips feel rough, I rub it on and they always feel instantly softer. Plus it smells amazing. This is a set of 3, but you can find singles or cute sets with chapstick included.
Polycrylic $13 - I use this instead of wax for the bottom of my pots. It dries much faster and resists much better. It won’t work on top of glaze, so not for resist decoration, but this was a game changer for me! No fumes, water based so it cleans out of brushes well, and burns off in the kiln.
Ozma Bandana $85 - A bit pricey for a stocking stuffer, but that’s what holiday gifts are for! A cute way to hold your hair back, or to warm up your neck. I linked the color Bare because that’s on my own list, but I have Walnut and love it too!
Elan Pottery Tools Enamel Pin $8 - There are so many designs of these cute enamel pins, you might pick up a few!
Mudtools Mudsponge Collection $32 - Along with the Mudtools red rib, this should be one of your first upgrades! If you’re used to throwing with the round yellow sponges, this will change your world, I promise! I prefer the blue in most cases, but the other two are great too!
Weleda Skin Food $14 - With over 20k 5-star ratings, you can’t go wrong! It’s ultra rich and moisturizing, and apparently it’s “used by the stars”. And we all know they all have soft baby angle skin. This must be why.
